Why Wedding Cake Toppers?

Why Wedding Cake Toppers?

Since my husband and I meet at art school, it was only natural that when we got married, instead of looking at pre-made wedding cake toppers, we decided to create our own.

At the time we didn’t have a 3D printer so we made a wire armature, used Sculpey to mold our figures, including one for our dog and cat, secured it to a wooden base, and painted it to our likeness. It was a big hit! This unique wedding cake topper still sits on our mantle, but sadly, as Scupley does, it’s beginning to crack, and only after 5 years (good thing it’s not a reflection of our marriage)!

A few years later, when we decided we needed a fun outlet for our artistic skills, it only made sense to utilize the advancing technology of 3D printers to share our creativity and talents and enter the world of custom wedding cake toppers. These figures are more durable and lighter! So, unlike some other wedding cake topper materials, there’s no need for supports in your cake.

Other than our use of 3D printers for our wedding cake toppers, one of Cake Topper Creations’ main goals is to fill in some gaps we noticed in the current market. From a wide range of skin tones, body types, and LGBTQ+ options, we truly hope we can create a wedding cake topper for any couple (if we’re missing a characteristic, -SEND US MESSAGE-).

So, why wedding cake toppers? It may just be a small part of your special day, but we hope your custom wedding cake topper represents you and your partner and brings you both joy for many many years to come.
